This renovation includes Body 20’s new design standard and is the first location in Northeast Florida to be built in this style.
Building the first location in a region to a brand’s new design standard carries a particular kind of pressure. There is no local precedent to copy and no nearby site to learn from, so every detail has to be interpreted from the standard itself and resolved on site. The Ponte Vedra space set the reference that later Northeast Florida locations can be measured against.
Radius drywall corners look simple in a rendering and are anything but on site. Curved framing has to be set out accurately, the board has to be worked to the radius rather than forced into it, and the finish has to be flawless because a curve draws the eye and shows every ripple under raking light. Open ceilings compound the difficulty: with no grid to hide behind, every duct, conduit, sprinkler drop and structural connection becomes a visible design element that has to be coordinated and installed to a standard normally reserved for exposed finishes.
An electro-muscle stimulation studio is not a conventional gym, but it shares the same underlying requirements: floors that take impact and clean easily, ventilation sized for exertion rather than desk work, power distributed to equipment positions rather than wall sockets, and acoustics that keep sessions contained. The custom floors here had to satisfy the brand standard and the practical demands of daily training use at the same time.
