Suddath is a long time customer of Interior Buildouts. We have had the pleasure of doing a lot of work in their headquarters. Over the years we have renovated their main lobby, 20 bathrooms, the executive board room, and multiple conference rooms and offices.
Most of the work in this gallery is a single project with a start and a finish. Suddath is different: it is years of work across one headquarters building, delivered in phases around a business that never stopped operating. That kind of relationship is built on predictability more than anything else, because a client only invites a contractor back into an occupied building if the last phase was handled well.
Working in a live headquarters changes how every task is planned. Noisy work is scheduled around the working day. Dust and access are controlled so that staff outside the work area are unaffected. Restrooms and meeting rooms are taken out of service in a sequence that leaves enough capacity for the building to function. Twenty bathrooms are never renovated at once for exactly that reason, and the phasing plan matters as much as the construction programme.
A main lobby and an executive board room are the two rooms in a headquarters that carry the most weight per square foot, and both are finish-critical: they are seen closely, by the people whose opinion the business cares about most. The conference rooms and offices around them are judged differently, on whether they work day after day. Delivering both standards within one building, phase after phase, is the substance of long-term headquarters work.
