The project includes features such as floating acoustical ceilings, a mini golf course, and unique wall designs throughout.
Turning a former stereo retail store into a company headquarters is a full change of use across an entire building rather than a fit-out within one. Retail floorplates are shaped around display and circulation; a headquarters needs workspace, meeting rooms, collaboration areas and staff amenity. Very little of the original layout survives that translation, so the renovation touched the whole building envelope and every internal service.
Floating acoustical ceilings are suspended as discrete rafts rather than a continuous grid. They let the structure above stay visible while still controlling reverberation, which is exactly what an open-plan headquarters needs: the volume and character of an exposed ceiling without the noise problem that usually comes with it. Each raft has to be coordinated with lighting, ventilation and sprinkler layouts, because there is nowhere to hide a clash.
Rustic wood accents and bespoke wall designs give the interior its character, and the mini golf course gives the building something most headquarters do not have. Features like that are straightforward to draw and demanding to build. They sit outside standard commercial detailing, which means bespoke setting-out, unusual substrates and finishes that have to be durable enough for daily staff use rather than showroom conditions.
